Handmade Dazzling Raffia OPERA cardigan

The ancient crochet technique, normally associated with classic knitting yarns, is reworked with raffia through an elegant nature-inspired embroidery in the new OPERA Dazzling cardigan. The technique, entirely carried out by hand by expert craftsmen, reproduces the leaves of the ginkgo tree, a symbol of simple and distinctive natural beauty. The cardigan combines the rustic and summery touch of raffia with the sparkling, three-dimensional detail of sequins, striking a perfect balance, in true Brunello Cucinelli style. Lastly, rib knit details complement the style. It takes about 36 hours to complete the processing of the garment.

The garment is entirely crocheted by hand. The yarn used brings to mind the classic irregular, dry and crisp hand of raffia: the three-dimensionality and thickness are balanced by remarkable lightness; qualities that allow creating designs with a textural effect without compromising comfort.
